In 2002, Brittany, Trent & Mark Kraemer opened Vintage Spirits & Grill (VSG) on the corner of University & Frances near the UW-Madison campus.
In 2009, they, along with long time VSG employees Mike Bridges and Bryan Manning, and experienced brewer Scott Manning, recognized an opportunity in the vacant space formerly occupied by JT Whitneys. Thanks to the wide variety of talents involved, they devopled a business plan and quickly secured the location for our brewpub. But boy, did we have some work to do before opening! And we were very fortunate to have numerous family and friends who stepped up to the plate to offer help where help was needed.
We brought in a creative culinary team, including Andrew Hurst, and set about creating a restaurant and brewery that features both excellent made-from-scratch food, and outstanding hand crafted beers. Vintage Brewing Co. opened in January of 2010 and we served our first house brewed beer in February of 2010.
And here is a special shout out to our loyal staff and guests (we are blessed to have so many, many loyal and regular guests) - Thank you for supporting us!
